preventing sickness + building a strong immune system

preventing sickness + building a strong immune system

As someone who's always on the go, I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to get sick and have to slow down. Whether it's a cold, the flu, or some other illness, being sick can put a damper on your daily life and make it hard to get things done.

That's why I've learned to consistently maintain these daily rituals over the years for preventing illness and keeping my immune system strong.

Hibernation sleep

Get plenty of sleep: Sleep is essential for keeping your immune system functioning properly. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night, and take naps during the day if you need to. Ensure to have downtime 1-2 hours before bed to prepare your brain and body for rest.

Eat a healthy diet: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods can help boost your immune system and give your body the nutrients it needs to fight off illness. Avoid sugary and processed foods, as they can weaken your immune system.

Oregano Oil

Take Oregano Oil: One of my best kept secrets in combating illness is using oregano oil. Oregano oil is a super antioxidant and may have antibacterial and antiviral properties, one drop per day can make it useful for treating infections and boosting overall health.

Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of fluids is important for keeping your body functioning properly and for helping to flush out toxins. Aim for at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. For an extra boost of immunity, add electrolytes to your water!

Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity can help boost your immune system and keep you healthy. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, like brisk walking or cycling, at least five days per week.

Managing stress

Manage stress: Chronic stress can weaken your immune system, so it's important to find ways to manage it. Try activities like yoga, meditation, or deep breathing to help reduce stress and keep your immune system strong.

By following these tips, you can help keep your immune system strong and reduce your risk of getting sick. So the next time you're feeling run down, try incorporating some of these strategies into your daily rituals and see if they make a difference in your health.
